Abstract:
The present invention relates to a variable gage-length ball-socketed extensimeter for measuring stretching strain of material. The upper gage-length fork and the lower gage-length fork is connected by draught spring and ball-socketed rod and/or lengthening bar, tubular fixing link, lock nut, and to be used together with the T-shaped groove plate, sliding meter seat board and its fastenings, the gage-length can be adjusted according to the length of the test piece; on the two gage-length forks are also equiped with moveable gage-length arms to adapt to the testing of test piece with larger diameter. The extensimeter has features of strong adaptbility, wide application range, and low operating cost, etc. It overcomes the shortcoming of the conventional extensimeter which, by means of one extensimeter, can only measure a fixed gage-length and a test piece with a diameter not greater than 12 mm.
