Abstract:
    The present invention relates to method and device for preventing tearing of strip steel in unwinding. The method is to set a tearing preventing roll located between the unwinder and the entry pullers and in the place 400-600 mm apart from the central line of the unwinder and held on the strip steel. During unwinding, the tearing preventing roll floating with the unwinder is held down with the gradually decreased coil diameter of the strip steel. The tearing preventing roll has pressure set in 30-40 % of the unwinding tension and the shape with middle protuberance of 2-3 mm. The present invention can prevent stickness and tearing of strip steel.
