Abstract:
    A holding mechanism having a part (9), which can be pulled out to the front and which, when pulled-out, is to be loaded with a container (4, 5, 6, 7) placed on rollers (8, 13) that cannot be driven, is located underneath each sorting terminal position of a sorting device. A first roller pair (11), which can be driven in a controlled manner and which serves to convey the containers (4, 5, 6, 7), is mounted toward the back on the fixed part of the holding mechanism. The fixed part of the holding mechanism is extended toward the back for holding a container (4, 5, 6, 7) in a buffer position behind the newly loaded container (4, 5, 6, 7) that is pushed into position, and comprises at least two second roller pairs (10), which can be driven in a controlled manner and which, independent of the first driven roller pair (11), act upon the containers (4, 5, 6, 7). These second roller pairs convey the containers (4, 5, 6, 7) to a storage and transporting device (12) located behind the fixed part of the holding mechanism.
