Abstract: |
|||
| The invention relates to a method for automatic detection of operational performance data of reading systems consisting of OCR readers and video coding systems for reading delivery addresses, involving the following steps: storing the images of the delivery surfaces having the delivery addresses that are to be read in every delivery along with the corresponding reading results and the partial results of the corresponding OCR readers and the available video coding results from the operational mode when the coding depth corresponds with the reading depth under the corresponding delivery characteristic in a performance data storage; video coding the corresponding delivery address of the images stored in the performance data storage under the corresponding delivery characteristic by using additional coding forces with a coding depth that corresponds with the reading depth and storing the coding results in the performance data storage under the corresponding delivery characteristic; automatically comparing the reading results of the OCR reader and the corresponding video coding results for each of the delivery characteristics contained in the performance data storage in order to reach a majority decision; storing all video coding results and evaluation results under the corresponding delivery characteristic and conducting statistical evaluation for detecting error or reading rates relative to the entire system and/or parts thereof and/or the operational coding forces and/or for detecting the frequency of ambiguous, uninterpretable or unreadable delivery addresses. | |||
