Abstract:
     Provided is a processing device and a processing method for an article by which the replacement of a unit and the like becomes unnecessary as much as possible. This processing device is equipped with a carrying means 1 and processing means 10 and 11. The carrying means 1 reduces the interval between areas Ws to be processed in a sheet article W in the carrying direction while carrying the continuous sheet article W. The processing means 10 and 11 apply processing to the areas Ws to be processed of the sheet article W with a specified interval while the sheet article W is being carried by the carrying means 1 or after the sheet article W is carried by the carrying means 1. Then, the processing device is constituted in such a manner that the processing of articles of a plurality of sizes can be performed by changing introduction positions P1 and P2 to which the sheet article W is introduced by the carrying means 1 depending on the size of the article to be processed.
