Abstract:
     The electronic ballast for gas discharge lamp is made up by adding protection circuit in existent electronic ballast containing rectifying circuit, filter capacitor and oscillating circuit. Said protection circuit includes sounding pulse generator, oscillating lock-up circuit and load signal collecting circuit for detecting switching-on and switching-off of the gas discharge lamp. By inputting the sounding pulse signal and collected signal from load circuit into the oscillating lock-up circuit, the oscillating circuit can be unlocked, and when the lamp load is switched on, said oscillating circuit is being in continuous working state, and when the lamp load is switched off, it is being in intermittent working state so as to increase service life of electronic ballast and its operation reliability and reduce cost.
