Abstract:
     A microwave drying process for preparing high-substituted cationic starch includes high-speed stirring the material mixture including NaOH, KOH and Ca(OH)2 as catalyst and quaternary or tertiary ammonium salt as cationizing reagent in the mol ratio of (1.2-1.5) : 1 and heating at 85 deg.C or lower in microwave (12.2 cm in wavelength) oven to obtain cationic starch with DS of 0.1-0.5 and excellent performance. Its advantages are simple operation, low consumption of energy and high transform rate of reagent up to 90-95%.
