Abstract:
    The invention relates to a method and a device for determining the quantity or mass of glue applied to the wrapping strip (15) of the tobacco industry. According to the inventive method, the wrapping strip (15) is exposed to ultrasound, the sound waves penetrating the wrapping strip (15) are received as ultrasound signals and the received ultrasound signals are used to determine the glue quantity or mass. The invention also relates to a machine of the tobacco industry and to the use of a measuring system (10) for determining the glue quantity or mass applied to a wrapping strip (15) of the tobacco industry.
