Abstract:
     The present invention relates to an improved technological process of expanding tobacco by using liquid carbon dioxide as expanding agent. It is that a combined basket in which tobacco leaves are uniformly placed and their density is 160-280 Kg/m3 is put into a soaking vat. This not only is advantageous to that the liquid carbon dioxide can be quickly and uniformly fed into the tobacco, but also is favorable for removing unnecessary carbon dioxide after soaking by use of fluid differential pressure mode, so that the carbon dioxide adhered on the tobacco surface is less, and the soaked tobacco is loose, free from briquctting, therefore it can reduce crumbling and can attain more than 60% of expansive effect at the temperature of 100 deg. C- 160 deg. C.
