Abstract:
     The method for accelerating fermentation of leaf tobacco by use of ultra-violet ray consists of two processes. One of them is that in a closed case the leaf tobacco are irradiated by use of ultra-violet light with 1800 to 2600 angstroms generated from ultra-violet lamp tube whose power is 30W and irradiation time is 4-6 hr.. Another process is fermentation under the condition of that its temp. is 35-45 deg.C and its humidity is 65%. As compared with conventional fermentation method, the adoption of this method can shorten the fermentation cycle by 50%, and at the same time, its energy consumption can be reduced and its fermentation quality of leaf tobacco can be raised.
