Abstract:
    A speaker comprising a magnetic-circuit-mounted frame, a voice coil, an arched diaphragm, and an edge formed of a material different from that of the diaphragm. Part of the voice coil is disposed in a magnetic gap formed by the magnetic circuit, the diaphragm is connected to the voice coil, and the edge links the diaphragm with the frame. The diaphragm has an inner diameter mounting unit to be joined to the voice coil, an outer diameter mounting unit to be joined to the edge, and a top unit formed between the inner diameter mounting unit and the outer diameter mounting unit to protrude forward. A portion in the vicinity of the top unit is different in at least one of thickness and density from portions other than the portion in the vicinity of the top unit of the diaphragm. This arrangement flattens sound pressure frequency characteristics over a broad band.
