Abstract:
    The present invention provides a network diagnostic method. The method includes the steps of: first, obtaining a plurality of first coefficients to be stored from the first test signal during the first cycle when the composite circuit is set in the first mode; second, obtaining a plurality of second coefficients to be stored from the second test signal during the second cycle when the composite circuit is switched to the second mode; then, a first index value is decided when the absolute value of one of the first coefficients is in the main bigger than the first critical value; next, a second index value and a polarity of the peak value are obtained by subtracting a reference signal obtained by said first coefficient from said second coefficient; last, a position having a cable problem is determined according to the first index value and the second index value. The network diagnostic method provided in present invention can be used for diagnosticating a computer network especially the high-speed ethernet and can decide the position having a cable problem.
