Abstract:
    The invention relates to a firmware upgrade method and system. The firmware upgrade system of the ivention consists of following sections: a broadcast center which tansmits data related to a firmware software via broadcast channels; a terminal which downloads the data to update the firmware software. In addition, for the terminal supporting digital multimedia broadcast service, the firmware upgrade method of the invention comprises following steps: a receiving step of receiving data via the broadcast channels; a judging step of judging whether the data is the data related to the firmware software; a checking step of checking constructing information of the firmware software is the data is related to the firmware software; an updating step in which the data is saved if the constructing information of the firmware software is consistent with information of the terminal, and then the firmware software is updated.
