Abstract:
    An S/P conversion unit (101a) converts transmission data (A) from serial data to parallel data and outputs the parallel data as the data to be mapped to high-quality bits (S0, S1) to a 16 QAM mapping unit (102). An S/P conversion unit (101b) converts transmission data (B) from serial data to parallel data and outputs the parallel data as data to be mapped to low-quality bits (S2, S3) to the 16 QAM mapping unit (102). In this 16 QAM mapping unit (102), the transmission data (A, B) is mapped at signal point arrangement of 16 QAM by gray coding. After this, the transmission data (A, B) is digitally modulated and then transmitted to the communication partny through an antenna (105).
