Abstract:
    The present invention relates to an auto-gain controlled digital phase-locked loop system and a method thereof. The system includes: a phase detector for genetating a phase difference signal according to an input signal and a pulse signal; a first multiplier for multiplying the phase difference signal by a first gain factor; a second multiplier for multiplying the phase difference signal by a second gain factor; a digital loop filter for generating a first control signal and a second control signal according to the output of the first multiplier and the second multiplier and for generating a control signal according to thea first control signal and the second control signal; a digital control oscillator for generating pulse signals according to control signals; an auto-gain control unit comprising a first control unit for updating the first gain factor according to the second signal; and a second control unit for updating the second gain factor according to the first signal. The present system can replace a gain control mechanism which is used for a digital phase-locked loop.
