Abstract:
    Disclosed is a signal conditioning method in which a first signal path (6) comprising an amplifier (64) and a second signal path (7) comprising another amplifier (74) are provided. A signal is fed to the first and the second signal path (6, 7) and is amplified and demodulated in the first signal path (6). Said signal is simultaneously amplified at a certain amplification factor in the second signal path (7), and a power of the signal amplified by the second signal path is determined. Said power is used for determining the amplification factor. A corresponding signal conditioning circuit encompasses a first and a second signal path (6, 7) as well as a first and a second mode of operation. The first signal path (6) is configured so as to amplify for demodulation purposes while the second signal path (7) is configured so as to amplify in order to determine a power of the fed signal in the first mode of operation. One of the two signal paths is inactive while the other signal path is configured for demodulating the fed signal in the second mode of operation.
