Abstract:
    Provided is a voltage controlled oscillator that is capable of suppress a deterioration in phase noise characteristics, and does not reduce the trackability of a control potential, a wireless communication apparatus using the same, and a voltage controlled oscillation method. The voltage controlled oscillator comprises inductor circuits, n (two or more) variable capacitance circuits having capacitance elements, negative-resistance circuits, and a reference potential generating means for generating a reference potential from a power potential, wherein a predetermined reference potential is inputted to one terminal of the variable capacitance elements of the n variable capacitance circuits, a control potential is inputted to the other terminal, and a predetermined reference potential inputted to one terminal of variable capacitance elements of at least two variable capacitance circuits out of the variable capacitance elements of the n variable capacitance circuits is different.
