Abstract:
    The present invention relates to an electric connector to be attached to a circuit board. A contact section (22A) of a terminal (20) for connection to a mating terminal is placed at an inner surface (14C) of one sidewall in the longitudinal direction of a housing, the one sidewall extending in the longitudinal direction to receive the mating connector and forming a fitting recess (14) of the housing. The fitting recess (14) opens upward. A connection section (23) for connection to a circuit board is placed at an outer surface of the one sidewall. A ground plate (30) is attached to the housing, along outer surfaces in the longitudinal direction of the housing (11). The ground plate (30) is provided at at least both outer surfaces in the longitudinal direction of the housing. One ground plate (32) is provided on the connection section side of the terminal with a spacing from the outer surface of the housing, and the ground plate forms a space allowing connection of the connection section to the circuit board within the range of the spacing. The ground plate of this electric connector to be attached to a circuit board has more perfectible shielding character.
