Abstract:
     The present invention relates to a process for preparing the compound PP333, an excellent plant growth regulator and broad spectrum germicide chemically, PP333 is called (2RS, 3RS)-1-p-chloro-phenyl-2-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-4,4-dimethyl-3-pentol]. Wherein 1-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)-3,3-dimethyl-1-(4-chloro-benzyl)-butanone-2 is reduced in polar solvent contg. sodium bicarbonate by using sodium metasulfite (sodium hydrcsulfite) as reduing agnet. The product is obtained with yield of 75-100% and purity up to above 97%.
