Abstract:
    Dual frequency omnidirectional - directional antenna based on electromagnetism band gap in wireless communication technical area includes radiating element, dielectric plate, ground plate, and discrete port. The radiating element possesses two pieces of metal patch unit with identical structure arranged in mirror symmetry. Being in arc type, each metal patch is pasted to external surface of the dielectric plate closely. The ground plate is positioned at inner surface of the dielectric plate, where there is electromagnetical band gap structure. Discrete port carries out feeding from back face of the dielectric plate. Being in use for wireless local area network, the invention possesses features of compact structure, small volume, easy of being integrated on printing circuit board, dual frequency characteristic, and switchable between user end and mobile end.
