Abstract:
    Provided is a liquid fuel direct type fuel cell (A) making auxiliary power for supplying fuel unnecessary, (B) capable of operating in any attitude, (C) capable of replenishing fuel in simple operation, (D) reducing cross leak and crossover of liquid fuel, (E) having high output density and high energy density, and (F) providing high safety and high reliability when a fuel cell power source is loaded on portable information equipment or portable equipment or used as a portable secondary battery charging power source. In the fuel cell having an anode oxidizing liquid fuel, a cathode reducing oxygen, and a polymer electrolyte membrane formed between the anode and the cathode, continuous pores forming a liquid fuel transportation passage by capillary force and facing the porous anode, and a porous body constituted with the continuous pores having no liquid-retention power are used and the liquid fuel is supplied by capillary negative pressure generating in the anode.
