Abstract:
     The vacuum ultraviolet radiation has its wavelength less than 200 nm. In the present invention, the output window is made of magnesium fluoride, which can transmit wavelength longer than 115 nm. The solder glass powder is compounded into pulp and used for the sealing between the electrodes and the monocrystal plate of magnesium fluoride in polar DC-discharge vacuum ultraviolet lightsources or used for the sealing between the casing glass and the monocrystal plate of magnesium fluoride in nonpolar HF-discharge vacuum ultraviolet lightsources. The mixed gases filled into the lightsources can lead to high luminous efficiency. The sealing method of the present invention can improve the mechanical strength and physicochemical property of the lightsources produced.
