Abstract:
     This invention is a glow-discharge tube used for excitative source of tested material in photo-emission spectriscopic analysis. Its characters are as follows: the narrow gap between the insulating tube which wraps the anode-tube, and the surface of that tested material is used for exhausting. It causes the pressure within the anode-tube to be kept constant and glow-discharge is taking place between the anode-tube and the tested material. Since the insulating tube projects beyond the anode toward the tested material, even if the vapor of the tested material might attach to the exhausting channel, there could not make short ckt between the anode and cathode. Thus, high efficiency of analysis is possible.
