Abstract:
A high voltage natrium discharging lamp is composed of a discharging housing with an external additional electrode. A starting circuit is also attached to the said lamp. The said starting circuit is composed of such a circuit in which there are a transformer coil, a capacitor and a semi-conductor switching element. The said circuit is connected with a resistance in series and with the discharging housing in parallel. The transformer is connected with the external additional electrode. According to the present invention, the semi-conductor switching element is a transistor thyratron-type non-controllable voltage-sensitive one in which when starting time is less than 10 microns, then the starting current is less than 1 mA and thereby a reliably started lamp with a starter which consumes a little power is formed.
