Abstract:
    The apparatus of the invention comprises a chain. The chain is formed of a succession of cutting links on one section and a succession of coupling links on the other section. Each of the cutting links is of generally polygonal cross-sectional shape and sharp cutting edges. The maximum distance that is from the surface of the coupling links to the center of the chain is shorter than the distance that is from the center of the chain to the sharp cutting edges of the cutting links. The cutting links and the coupling links will naturally rotate around the center axes of the chain. The apparatus of the invention is suitable for cutting a soft material, such as meat.
