Abstract:
The present invention relates to a permanent magnet manufacture process. Its characteristic is that the rare earth oxide is reduced directly by Ca (or Ca-hydride), the resulted rare earth metal and Fe, B (or Fe-B) and a substitute M for a part of Fe diffuse mutually, forming directly a Ferro-rareearth-boron system (Fe-R-B) alloy material, the major part of which is of quadratic phase structure. This product is washed off CaO with water or decationed water, yielding RxFeyBz powder, this can be used to make various practical permanent magnets by a series of powder metallurgical processes.
