Abstract:
     A three-phase transformer including two intermediate legs and two outer yoke. The area of the cross section of outer yoke, upper yoke and lower yoke, respectively, is of 1/2 of that of intermediate leg. Two windings positioned on outer yoke are connected in series for one of three-phase windings. Bath windings have an equal number of turns to those of the intermediate leg windings. Calculation and technology of the transformer are similar to three legged three-phase transformer. The advantages are that core weight is reduced about 20% when the shape and size and weight of copper (or aluminium) winding wire of the transformer are approximately equal to three legged three-phase transformer and that three-phase excitation current are approximately symmetrical. The invention can also be used for various three-phase transformers such as three-phase reactor and auttransformer.
