Abstract:
     The PTC thermistor material made of BaTiO3 powder as its base possesses a low resistivity (less than 0 ohm) and a high-voltage endurance (great than 270V). It is featured in the fact that the purity of BaTiO3 is greater than 99.5% and the granularity is between 0.1 and 2 micron. When the method of coprecipitation in oxalic acid is adopted, the percentage of accepted products may be higher than 70%. The invention substitutes the one-stage sintering method for the two-stage sintering method so that the production period is shortened by half and that the cost is lowered by 30 percent. The PTC thermistor produced with this material can be used as current-limiting protection device on high-powered electric equipment which is linked to a 220V electricity network.
