Abstract:
The furnace (code name FTD) is a new type of single crystal growing furnace which utilizes the principle of buoyancy effect for pulling the monocrystals. It utilizes the action of tap water on the buoy carrying a seeding shaft. The pulling action can be effected by controlling the water level. It is of a simple construction, puoducing little vibrations, and of low-cost. The pulling speed of the crystal ranges from 0.5 to 150mm per hour, and can be regulated continuously, its long term stability shows a deviation less than 5%. The seeding shaft can be regulated in two-dimensions in the plane normal to the pulling direction, the range of regulation being no smaller than - 20mm.
