Abstract:
     The present invention refers to the preparation of monocrystalline silicon carbide. It uses powdered silicon oxide microcrystalline as raw material, graphite as reducing agent, and fluoride as whisker formation agent and monocrystalline fibre with diameter of 3-5 micron and length of 5-10 mm is obtained at 1400-1600 deg.C for 4-5 hr under protection of argon atmosphere. The monocrystalline silicon carbide fibre provided by present invention is an ideal component of composite materials.
