Abstract:
     Deposit hydroxy-group-containing copolymer of alkone monomer and maleic acid anhydride on surface of carbon fiber in a direct current field. Treat carbon fiber (as an anode) in an ammonium salt water solution containing 1.5-5.0% above-mentioned copolymer(mol.wt 2000-6000) with a 0.3-1.0 MA/sq.CM electric current for 20-100 seconds. By this treatment, the cohesion between carbon fiber and epoxy resin is much improved. The inter-layer mechanical shearing strength of the uni-directional reenforced epoxy resin compounded material reaches 1130 kg/sq.CM.
