Abstract:
     The present invention is related to an additive for chrome-plating and its application process. It consists of a light rare-earth mixture with praseodymium and neodymium as main components, K2SiF6 and Al2(SO4)3.10H2O. The use of said additive can make the chromic anhydride content of the plating solution decrease by 50% as compare with the standard plating solution. Usually it only contains CrO3 120-180 g/l. The chrome-plating temp. is 17-55 deg.C. The chrome-plating process is carried out under the conditions of low chromic anhydride concentration, low temp. and low Dk value high-current efficiency. The chromic acid fog can be removed and the hexavalent chromes in the waste water are little, so that it is beneficial to health and lessening pollution. It also can omit the heating, temp.-droping and exhaust devices, so the energy loss can be reduced by 50-80%. Its deep plating and uniform plating capability is high and its quality of plating layer is good.
