Abstract:
     The present invention relates to cathod blocks with low voltage drop used for aluminium electrolyzer which consists of a rectangle metal box supporting the cathod. The cathod consists of long hexahedral carbon blocks which are arranged parallelly. The ratio between the length of main axle and the width of the carbon block is at least equal to 2. There is at least a slot on the bolck and a steel bar connected with collctor is sealed in the slot and located parallelly to the short side of the metal box. The present invention is characterized by that the sealed slot is perpendicular to the main axle of the cathod block and the cathod block itself is parallel to the long side of the metal box. A semi-assembly is composed of at least two cathod blocks which are stuck together and the width of which is equal to half width of the metal box. The cathod assembly is composed of two semiassembly which are stuck together. The width of the two semiassembly is equal to that of the cathod.
