| This is a technique of manufacturing neodymium-magnesium alloy by electrolytic method, then distillating the alloy in vacuum to get the metallic neodymium. The optimum conditions of the manufacturing process are as follows: the electrolyte is made up of dehydrated neodymium chloride and potassium chloride, and the neodymium chloride retains 18-26% wt. of the electrolyte in the electrolytic procession, and the electric current density is 2.7 A per square centimeter to 3.8 A per square centimeter, the temperature of electrolysis is 850-870 deg.C. The pressure of distillating magnesium in the distillating cage is lower than 1.33x0.1 Pa, the temperature of distillating is 850-870 deg.C. This technigue for producing neodymium is low in cost, easily operated, the magnesium and other waste materials can be recovered for reuse, the technological process is a closed circulation without environment pollution. | |||
