Abstract:
     This invention relates to materials for the anode in electrolytic alumium production: Distribution of grain sizes of dry petroleum coke: 10-14 mm, 15-20% (by wt.), 4-2 mm, 14-20% (by wt.), 0.15 mm, 39-45% (by wt.) in which 0.075 mm, 28-33%, the rest being 2-0.15mm. Adhesive used is mid-temp.-coal which is 23-27% of the paste. Consumption of the new type anode paste per ton of aluminium production decreases 5.49%. The concentration of pitch smoke over the anode in the electrolytic cell decreases relatively 13.7-17.2%.
