Abstract:
This invention belongs to an anode material used as electric conductor for the electrolytical production of aluminium. The self-baking anode is made up by using the waste carbon block (which is taken from broken aluminium tank, immersed by electrolyte and catalyzed into graphitizing) to replace 4-87% petroleum coke or pitch coke added with coal pitch and coal tar which are used as binder. Its anti-oxidizing property is better. Its oxidation loss for electrolysis is lowered by 7-11%. The specific resistance of the anode is decreased by 11-44%. Its electric consumption per ton of aluminium is saved by 340-680 kilowatt-hours. The self-baking anode has the advantages of fast sinter, high density and high strength. Its physical properties have reached the technical specifications of prebaking anode. It is suitable for both side-inserting and up-inserting anodes.
