Abstract:
     The present invention relates to the preparation of power-saving carbon anode for aluminium electroextraction. It is characterized by that the self-baking anode paste or prebaked anode block is incorporated with the oxide, chloride, nitrate or carbonate of either yttrium, neodymium, cerium or praseodymium, or with either two of the above-mentioned four rare-earths compounds to make self-baking anode or prebaked anode contain either one or two of the compounds of yttrium, neodymium, cerium or praseodymium. The use of said invention can make the power consumpttion of aluminium per ton reduce 500 - 1100 kwh, the preparation is simple and easy and no polluting, the source of the rare-earth needed is convenient and the comprehensive economic benefit good.
