Abstract:
     This cathode carbon block has a matrix which the general cathode carbon block for the electrolyzer of aluminium has and a surface layer-C-TiB2 composite film. Its technological steps to make it include carbon proportioning, mixing and kneading with adhesive, shaping, coating TiB2 and roast. Compared with carbon block matrix, the specific resistance of C-TiB2 film is lower by 20-50%, its compressive strength is higher by 10-25% and its density is higher by 10-25%. The film has better wetting performance to molten aluminium and better chemical stability to aluminium.
