Abstract:
The invention provides a molten salt electrolysis for making Ti-Al alloy powder. In this method, separate soluble anodes of Ti and Al are employed to produce Ti-Al alloy powder in a system of melted salts of NaCl-KCL as the main content and soluble titanate which is TiCln with a small amount of NaAlCl4 and NaF. With this method, Ti-Al alloy powder with a medium grain size (mesh No.28-180) suitable for use in powder metallurgy can be obtained with a yield of over 80% conforming to standards and stable Al-containing content. The invention makes it possible to reduce greatly the cost of the Ti alloy powder products and thus is significant in its application.
