Abstract:
     The invention relates to a compound energy-saving carbon anode for aluminium electrolysis and its manufacturing method. The carbon anode is featured by addition of two or more basic metals (Li, Na, K), alkali-earth metals (Mg, Ca, Ba), oxides of transition metals (iron), and compound and mixture of carbonate or nitrate as electric catalyst. Their content in the carbon anode is controlled within a range of 0.05-0.9%. The compound energy saving anode saves electric energy by reduction of the over-voltage. The energy-saving carbon anode can be made with simple manufacturing process and the materials for catalyst are easily obtainable at low cost. When put to use, it can raise current efficiency.
