Abstract: |
|||
| This invention refers to a composite fiber and its application, esp, for usage in dimension-stable partition board. Said composite fiber is composed of inorganic particles and fiberous organic polymers. It is produced by violent milling or shearing of granular inorganic compounds and organic particles of precursor of polymers at high temperature. There are many suitable inorganic compounds, but the metal oxidex is the best. Organic polymer fiber which contains fluorine is most suitable. The composite fiber may be used as filtering material (e.g.filtering fillings in chromatographic column) or as partition material (used in electric cells). It may be compressed and agglomerated into bearings or washers. When it is used as partition board for chlorine-alkali electrolytic cell, it is best that the composite fiber pulp be deposited directly onto porous cathode and heated. | |||
