Abstract:
     In the regions abounding with stray currents, the prior technic for eliminating the stray currents around the underground metallic structures and the device providing cathodic protection and corrosion-inhibiti by electrification used to cause large punctures of underground metallic structures after 1-3 years of service, leading to severe leakage of transported media, and incurring, in turn, poisoning hazards or even greater losses due to explosions. The technique of eliminating the stray currents and running the corrosion-inhibiting device as specified by this invention ensures by means of controlling the wave form, so that the range of the potential of underground metallic structures is equal to that of the stray currents and the service life of the former can thus be extended more than twice. This invention may find more extensive applications and provide greater cost effectiveness in parallel with the rapid development of electrical railway transport, petroleum industry, chemical.
