Abstract:
A layer of aluminium rare earth alloy which contains 0.05-1% rare earth elements is plated on the surface of steel and metal articles. Cleaned steel and metal articles are put into the molten alloy which is protected by molten KCl-NaCl-NaF-AlF3 mixed salt, articles are dipping plated for 2-10 sec. at 670-690 deg.C, and then aftertreated. The effect of rare earth elements in the alloy are to remove gases from the it and to form finer aluminium crystals and thus increasing anticorrosion and adsorption power of aluminium on the steel surface, consequently the ability to protect articles from corrosion will be strengthened and the service life will be extended.
