Abstract:
     High speed cutting tool steel by conventional brittle and rather is poor in wearability and hardenability. After penerating, it must be further treated. The present invention is a 4-element (C.N.O and B) gas phase penetration process. The penetrating agents are injected into the furnace quantitatively, decompose and penetrate onto the metal surface there under low temperature conditions. No further treatment is required. The process is useful for chemical-thermal treatement of surgace of cutting tools made from high-speed steel.
