Abstract:
     The process is used to change the compound layers of nitrided layers into a state close to diffusive layers by way of heat-treatment wherein to effect reduction in brittleness and to retain hardness. Compared with the present grinding method, this process of heat-treatment is more suitable for batch production. Moreover, because of the porous surface thus treated, the product, in the case of piston rings, presents better performance in holding lub oil, convenient in use.
