Abstract:
The technology of this invention relates to those for heat treatment of titanium alloys. It is used to eliminate the strip-like or lump-shaped alpha-phase in the original bars or forgings of the alpha beta titanium alloys, enabling the nascent equiaxial alpha phase to be miniaturized to a mean diameter of 1-2 mm. According to this invention, the specific features of this technology are the following: the material is heated to a relatively high temperature of the two-phase region to effect more than 50% deformation during forging, then the material is further subjected to beta treatment and forged at the temperature of the two-phase region with deformation above 50%, and finally the material is subjected to annealing for recrystallization. The above mentioned technological scheme is able to ensure the equiaxial miniaturization of crystal microstructure of raw bars or forgings of alpha beta titanium alloys.
