| The platinum content of the catalyst using r-alumina carrier is so low that the prior art of recovery of platinum is relatively complicated. The present invention concerns a new process based on the extraction of the waste catalyst. The extractant is bi-(2-ethyl hexyl)-sulfoxide, the recovery of platinum being more than gg.percent. This process is as following: calcination to remove accumulated carbon, leaching with hydrochloric acid, extraction of platinum, washing, back extraction, reduction of platinum with hydrazine hydrate and regeneration of the organic phase from back extraction. | |||
