Abstract:
     Electroslag casting is a new technology cross between metallurgy and mechanics, It has both refining function and solidifying forming function. Therefore it is suitable for producing high quality stocks. But it has the limitation that it can be used only to produce simple shapes with heavy sections of wall thickness thicker than 50 mm. The present invention introduces deformation forming into electroslag casting, so that refining, solidification and deformation forming are conducted in the same crystallizer. Thus the original limitation is overcome, and quality of products as well as productivity are improved.
