Abstract: |
|||
| This invention relates to a process of matte smelting used for copper concentrate (or heavy metal glance such as nickel concentrate). This process comprises adding coal as make-up fuel to the charge and charging at top of the furnace, introducing proheated air or oxygen-rich air from blast tuyeres immersed in the melt to effect vigorous stirring, oxidizing and burning taking place, resulting in high heat intensity so as to create good thermodynamic and dynamic conditions for reducing Fe3O4, slagging, collecting matte phase and slag phase respectively to have them seperated. The slag is introduced into an external crucible. The exhaust is used for making acid. Boiling smelting needs a special type of furance, which has cooling jacket of high heat intensity around the tuyere zone in order to ensure the furnace running with high heat intensity, high productivity for a long period. | |||
