Abstract:
     This invention relates to an autoclave unit which consists of a group of connecting chambers. The first chamber is much larger in size than others. The partial pressure of oxygen in the autoclave is ranged from about 50 to 1000 k pa. The fecdstock of the aqueous mineral slurry is transported into the first larger chamber, then flows successively through the connecting smaller chambers. The temp. in the first and other successive chambers is high enough for a self-heat oxidation of the sulfide feedstock to take place. The oxidated mineral slurry is discharged from the last chamber of the system.
